Dividend Income

Another month has passed and its now time to update what I made in dividend income.  This month was a huge month in terms of income I received. If you wish to view any of my past monthly updates you can find them here.

In March, I took in $345.68, which is 779% higher than the income I took in from a year ago.  NEW RECORD!  My income from the last 12 months also increased from $1677.81 to $1984.17.  One of my goals is to have this number never to decrease in value(always growing).

The biggest news this month was the 64% increase in the dividend of Centamin.   With this news my income will increase by of over $200 a year.

  • Account Value
  • 6 Month Moving Average

Monthly Capital Contribution

The total value of my Dividend Portfolio decreased by almost $2,000 this month and I had $4500 of new capital contributions.  The current value is at $79063.  Below you can view the total contributions made to my Dividend Portfolio since inception along with the 12 month total.  Currently my 12 month capital contribution total is coming in at $44445 which is up almost $1500 over last month. Over time I would like to see the red moving average continue to increase over time.

I finished the refinancing of my home which freed up some extra capital this month.  I was able to lock in a 15 year at 3.25%, cutting almost 2 years off my mortgage and the refi only cost me around $500.  Hell Yes!

Portfolio Weighting

dividends

Basic Materials dropped a couple percentage points this month due to some profit taking on a couple positions but my energy weighting has greatly increased.  I continue to add to the quality positions suchs as XOM, BP, RDS'b, and CVX.  I am not really too concerned at certain sectors being over weigh at this time.  I am in the accumulation mode and right now I continue to focus on what Mr. Market is providing as cheap.

Next Month

Looking forward to April I anticipate some large contributions this month due to an overly large tax refund.  I hope to put to work $5000 - $8000.  My dividend income though will only come in at around $180 this month.  I am really looking forward to May when I should receive almost $500.

I continue to like XOM, CVX IBM, BNS, RY, TD, HP, NOV, EMR, PM, BAX, CAT, SII.to, KO, PG, JNJ, TROW

You can find my total dividends received each month located here.
