Dividend Income Update August 2015

Written by MrStockFox. Posted in Dividends

Dividend Income

Another month is in the books and its now time to update things for August.  As with most people stock portfolios, this month we show another big decline.  Although not as big as July's decline, August showed a 3.8% overall decline of the portfolio.  This month I am proud to report that I have received over $3000 in income over the last 12 months.  This is a major milestone that I am very proud of.

Also this month I had a couple reductions of dividend income from a couple of my smaller oil stock positions.  RIG announced a reduction to a zero dividend policy, while CPG reduced the monthly dividend to .10 cents.

Moving forward things keep tracking along.  My monthly income was 133% higher than the same period a year ago and 65% higher compared to my income in July.

If you wish to view any of my past monthly updates you can find them here.

Current Stats
  • 12 Month Income = $3142.94
  • Total 12 Month Future Dividends = $4615

The portfolio was again negative for the month, deceasing by 3.8%.  The decline in energy companies continues to take a near term toll on the portfolio.  Overall the portfolio actually increased this month thanks to my contributions going from $95,992 to $96920.  Below you can view the total contributions made to my Dividend Portfolio since inception along with the 12 month total.  For the last 6 months my contribution rate has been over $4000.  My overall contribution rate is tracking very nicely.  Currently my 12 month capital contribution total is coming in at $48,497 which increased by $1000 over last months average. I would like to see the red moving average continue to increase over time.

I continue to make small couple share positions in energy stocks but for the most part I have begun focusing elsewhere.  I still plan on building up XOM, EPD, SXL, SHLX, and TRGP, but this month I added to TROW, IBM, MJN, WPC, OHI, ETN, MSFT, EMR

Dividend Income Update July 2015

Dividend Income

Another month is in the books and its now time to update things for July.  First things first, a couple days ago I noticed that I had been incorrectly tracking the future dividend rate for one of my positions.  Centamin Egypt pays an irregular dividend twice per year.  I incorrectly assumed that the dividend amount paid last May would also be the same amount paid in September.  This has reduced my 12 month future dividend total by approx. $200.   Although this reduced the total amount, I still believe that I will hit my goal of $5000 by the end of the year.

Moving forward things keep tracking along.  My monthly income was 133% higher than the same period a year ago and -37% compared to my income in June.

Current Stats
  • 12 Month Income = $2916.84
  • Total 12 Month Future Dividends = $4500

The portfolio was again negative for the month, deceasing by 7.0%.  The decline in energy companies continues to take a near term toll on the portfolio.  The current value decreased down from $98225 to $95,992.  Below you can view the total contributions made to my Dividend Portfolio since inception along with the 12 month total.  For the last five months my contribution rate has been over $4000.  My overall contribution rate is tracking very nicely.  Currently my 12 month capital contribution total is coming in at $47,380 which increased by $3000 over last months average. Over time I would like to see the red moving average continue to increase over time.

Dividend Income

Another month is in the books and its now time to update things for June.

Things keep tracking along.  My monthly income was 160% higher than the same period a year ago and -43% compared to my income in May.  My annual future Dividend income increase rate slowed this month because I had several companies reduce their dividend. The rate increases should slow going forward as I plan to focus on adding to my junior miner holdings, as well as, some smaller dividend payers going into the end of the year.  So we will see what ends up happening.  All and all, I should still end up hitting my goal of $5000.

Current Stats
  • 12 Month Income = $2710.24
  • Total 12 Month Future Dividends = $4421

The portfolio was negative for the month, deceasing by 4.5%.  The decline in energy companies continues to take a near term toll on the portfolio.  The current value increased slightly from $98145 to $98225 due to my contributions.  Below you can view the total contributions made to my Dividend Portfolio since inception along with the 12 month total.  For the last four months my contribution rate has been over $4000.  I am very proud of this rate.  Currently my 12 month capital contribution total is coming in at $44,854 which increased slightly from last month. Over time I would like to see the red moving average continue to increase over time.

Dividend Income Update May 2015

Written by MrStockFox. Posted in Dividends

Dividend Income

Another month is in the books and its now time to update things for the month of May.  Much of the month seemed to be a blur with many of the days seeming to repeat like ground hog day.  My daughter just had her first b-day which was very special to celebrate.  Lately though I feel the need of a big vacation.  I generally like to take a big trip every 6 months or so and our last big vacation was to New England last October.

May was a huge huge huge month for my Dividend Portfolio.  Not only did I pass $400 for the first time in a single month, but I also passed $500 hitting $576.85.  My monthly income was 633% higher than the same period a year ago and 252% over my income in the month of April.  My annual future Dividend income has been going up on average $300 a month since February.  At this rate I should hit my monthly goal by the end of the summer, but I plan to focus on smaller dividend payers going into the end of the year.  So we will see what ends up happening.  All and all, I should still end up hitting my goal of $5000.

Current Stats
  • 12 Month Income = $2595.82
  • Total 12 Month Future Dividends = $4297

dividends

Key:

  • Dividend Income

  • 8 Month Moving Average

Monthly Capital Contribution

After a stellar percentage gain in the month of April, the portfolio only grew by .5%.  I anticipated this recent decline in energy which offset much of the other gains in my portfolio.  The current value is of my portfolio increased from $93206 to $98145..  Below you can view the total contributions made to my Dividend Portfolio since inception along with the 12 month total.  Currently my 12 month capital contribution total is coming in at $43,670 which decreased slightly from last month. Over time I would like to see the red moving average continue to increase over time.

Some of the smaller sectors continue to creep up as I add to positions.  I would slowly like to reduce the overall percentage in energy but for now I am okay with it being such a large position.

I continue to like PG, JNJ, TROW, BEN, SII.to, CVX, XOM, TRGP, SXL, EPD, HSY, VTR, OHI, O, HCN, HCP
